The Brief

Barbour and Barbour International have worked alongside us for five years to create content for their seasonal fashion campaigns. Production typically takes place throughout the year with RD producing thousands of assets for the brand’s marketing team.

This enables world-class content to be produced quickly and cost-effectively for every platform, including Instagram, in-store, B2B and other social media platforms.

The Approach

For Barbour’s shirt department Autumn Winter campaign, we wanted a quirky overarching creative, that would be stylishly executed into a series of fun vignettes.

As a reference for this film, we used Park Hyatt’s ‘Luxury is Personal’ film. It is aspirational but personal, which is something we wanted to tap into for our shoot.  The way the copy interacts with the visuals was a key component to getting the tone & style of our film right, and we were inspired by the elegant, white text overlaid on carefully selected dark spaces.

Barbour shirts are iconic. We wanted this campaign to personify what it means wear a Barbour shirt.  The tartan shirt is best paired with a Scottish whisky; the elegant timelessness of the Barbour Saltire plain shirt perfectly compliments a Sunday drive in your vintage car and the Rugged Casual is for all those moments you need to sand down your boat…
