The Brief for Barbour Gold

Launched in 2020, the collection is considered to be the pinnacle of the range and the embodiment of the brand’s 125 year-old heritage of crafting men’s outerwear.

Text and Visual

With British actor Sam Claflin (Peaky Blinders, Hunger Games) as the face of the Barbour campaign, and shooting in Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands, our brief was to create a powerful evocation of what it is like to move through such a formidable landscape.

Our Approach

Key to this campaign was shooting on anamorphic lenses that bring a sense of scale to the cinematic setting, and working with Sam to hone in on the right mood for his performance, bringing a presence and immediacy to his character rather than a more editorial look-book approach for the Barbour Gold collection.
