RD Content is launching a £30,000 film fund to support six film projects in the first half of 2021. The RD Action Film Fund will support filmmakers who want to tell stories exploring sustainability, diversity or climate change.
Founder of RD Content, Ryan Dean, said this about the launch:
“The RD Action Film Fund comes at the end of a challenging year for everyone in the creative industries as COVID has halted or disrupted many projects around the world. We felt now was the right time to double down on our commitment to supporting incredible storytellers and storytelling initiatives. I am excited to see what the fund produces in the Summer of 2021 when hopefully we can all get together for an evening of short films.”
RD Content is committed to supporting great storytelling that can help create positive change around the world.
Whilst the fund is primarily open to RD team members we are keen to collaborate with storytellers outside of our organisation. So if you are someone who wants to apply for the fund then all we require is some information about you, the story you want to tell and a little about how you would intend to use the fund’s money. This will be shared with an RD team member who will then bring your project to the attention of the fund panel.
The panel will meet three times to award the funds. Two films will be given the green light in December, two more in January and finally two will be supported in February. The films must be completed by May 2021 with the film launch taking place in June 2021.
